Botanisk Centralbibliotek
Botanisk Centralbibliotek is the central library for botanical literature in Denmark. The library dates back to 1752, when the Royal Botanical Institutions were founded by order of Frederik V. The Institutions were founded in order to modernize agriculture, and one part of their work was to establish a collection of botanical literature.
Today the collection contains about 50.000 books and 100.000 issues of periodicals. The library also offers a multitude of online journals. Books and journals from the collection can be used in our reading rooms, where we also offer access to our online jounals.
Students and teachers at the danish universities can borrow books directly from the library, the general public can use our reading rooms, or order books from our collection through the public library system.
